Lantern-Making Competition
Date due: 28th January 2008, 3pm, Chinese Culture Room
Every class will submit a hand-made lantern on the 28th January 2008, Monday.
There is no restriction to the materials used to make the lantern. However, the lantern should roughly have the dimensions of 50cm X 50cm. All lanterns will then be judged based on creativity and adherence to CNY theme.
Prizes will be given to the top three winners, with house points awarded to their respective houses.

What to expect on CNY Celebrations!
书法比赛 Chinese Calligraphy Competition
Date: 06/02/08 (CNY Celebrations Day)
Venue: Canteen
Each class will send 4 participants (participants from other races are also welcome) for this competition where they will try their hands at Chinese Calligraphy individually. Different couplets samples will be provided during the competition for the participants to refer to. All the writings will be judged by Mr. Chow after the competition.
Prizes will be given to the top three winners, with house points awarded to their respective houses!
剪纸比赛 Traditional Chinese Paper-cutting Competition
Date: 06/02/08 (CNY Celebrations Day)
Venue: Canteen
Each class will send 4 participants (participants from other races are also welcome) for this competition where they will try their hands at Traditional Chinese Paper-cutting.
Instructions as well as some simple tips on how to make Chinese knot will be given to CT rep beforehand during morning assembly. There will also be a simple demonstration before the competition commences. Each classes’ final work will be assessed and given a mark based on their creativity.
Prizes will be given to the top three winners, with house points awarded to their respective houses.
